Come to Class prepared with pencils sharpened and notebook ready to learn!
Class Entry Students are expected to enter the classroom quietly. If students do not come in quietly we will go back out into the hallway and re-enter the room in the expected manor. There will be a Warm Up on the board students are expected to be completing and putting it in their notebook.
School Supplies If you do not have a pencil at the beginning of class, please ask students in your group if they have one to borrow before asking me. If they do not, then you can borrow a pencil from the Pencil Bucket. At the end of class it should be returned and sharpened. This should be done with as few distractions as possible and with little moving in the classroom.
Bathroom Policy Students are to use the bathroom before school, at lunch, and in between classes. Students are given 3 Emergency bathroom passes per quarter unless a doctors note is provided. Bathroom Passes are recorded for each student per quarter in the Bathroom Book.
Cleaning the room at the end of class Students should keep trash at their desks until the end of class and then throw it away as they are walking out of class at the end of the period. This eliminates movement in the classroom and fosters everyone being responsible for their work station. In the last minutes of each class, each student is responsible for leaving the room tidy for the next group. We will pick up trash around our work areas, throw it away on the way out to our next class, straighten our desks, push chairs under, and have all borrowed materials turned in and ready to use for the next classes each day.
Leaving Class At the end of our class we will pack up and clean up our Stations. Mrs. Honeycutt will dismiss you by groups that have cleaned up and that are standing beside their chairs. I will call a couple at a time to line up along the counters. This helps to have easy movement for students. We walk out of class in an orderly manner.
Lab Days The safety of students is of utmost importance. If a student is having problems following directions during a Lab, they will loose the privilege of participating in the Lab and will have an alternate assignment.
